Premier Stelmach stepping down

Hi again,
As anyone living here in Alberta knows, Premier Ed Stelmach announced this week that he is stepping down as Premier. It came as a shock to many people and yet for me I wasn't extremely shocked. I was surprised it happened this week but not surprised that it happened. The Alberta Provincial Conservative Party is losing popularity fast with how they are running the province and I figured it's only a matter of time before something drastic is done to try win people back. It seems often when there is a problem, the first one to go is the leader. It happens with politics often and it also seems quite common with sports. Sometimes the problem is the leader or the coach but not always. I think in the case of the conservative party, the problem lies not only with the leader but the entire party. The first problem with Premier Ed Stelmach in my opinion is that he is too nice and a good guy and good guys don't make good political leaders. As far as I see it, the other problem is that since Premier Stelmach isn't a strong leader, the rest of the party is making alot of the decisions and convincing the Premier that is what he should do. So for me, changing the leader of the party is not going to make me feel any better towards the Provincial Conservative party because it is the entire party that is screwing things up. I hope that people see that and are not fooled into thinking that a new leader will make it all better. Sure you may get a stronger leader who makes decisions themselves but they will still stand for the same things that the current party stands for and may continue to screw up everything. I am not saying the Premier Stelmach isn't thinking for himself but I think that different members in the party push him towards what they want done and it isn't working. I don't blame Premier Stelmach and I feel bad for him and I am very annoyed with the Conservative party because I think that is where the bigger problem lies. Yet I also think that Stelmach should not have run for Premier in the first place and he put himself in that position so it is partly his fault. I also think that Premier Stelmach was pushed to step down and it wasn't completely his decision. I don't know if that is the case or not for sure but it looks that way to me and I want to share my views on this subject. I am not quite sure on this but it seems to me that Stelmach is stepping down before the next election which if that is the case it isn't right. People elected Stelmach in as Premier and I think he should stay as Premier until the next election. Maybe he is staying as Premier though till the next election and they are just choosing who will be his successor. Anyways, what ever happens I wish Stelmach all the best in what ever he chooses to do in the future.

Stouffers Saute Sensations

Hello again,
Well today we got groceries and I had a coupon for a free bag of Stouffers Saute Sensations so we got a bag and were quite happy to save 7.99! Yay for freebies because it wasn't worth 7.99 in my opinion. Maybe I am just used to good home cooked meals but maybe it actually isn't that good. We chose the Country beef Pot Roast kind. My mom opened the bag to discover that it had very few vegetables other than potatoes. It had maybe 5 pieces of carrot in the whole bag. The amount of beef was ok but not great despite the bag claiming to have 25% more beef. Maybe I am expecting too much to think that you could get a good meal from something you pick up from the frozen isle but if you pay 7.99 you should at least get something decent. We decided to add more vegetables and some more potatoes and it turned out ok but I would not spend 7.99 on it. I think there are better options in the frozen isle than this. If you are going to spend the money for convenience and you are willing to take advice from me, I would go for the Lean Quisine Spa meals because they seem to have more veggies and meat in them per serving. They are costly as well unless you can find them on sale but in my opinion they are a much better choice than the Saute Sensations. Of course I would prefer a home cooked meal over any frozen dinner but sometimes that isn't possible and you need something fast because time is short. I definitely will not spend 7.99 on the Saute Sensations though. I suppose if it was half price and I felt like using it as a base and adding more to it then I may consider it but otherwise I think I will stick to good home cooked meals. :) Thanks for reading my blog!

Flashpoint Game on www.ctv.ca

Hello again,
I suppose this post could actually be titled a fun find. :) Yesterday I was on the CTV site because I was curious which repeat of Flashpoint was going to be on tv and I came across a game that is kind of fun. It's called "Training Day" where you go through pretend training to become part of the SRU team. I played some of it and you first go through a recruitment test and then you go on to do a bunch of levels I suppose where you learn different stuff and play mini simulation games. I suppose it helps me understand more about the show and what is going on during the show. On one level you learn about the different team member's jobs and what each job is. For example, one person on the team is designated the breacher and they are the ones who break down the door for the other team members who are designated entry people to go in. You also get to travel around the SRU facility that they use in the show as well. This is probably a fun game for anyone who is a fan of the show. For people who don't watch the show it might still be fun. If you want to check it out, here is the link to the Flashpoint page where the game is. http://shows.ctv.ca/FlashPoint.aspx

Hello and welcome

Hello,
As you may know, I already have a blog called the Thankful Heart project where I share something I am thankful for each day for one year. But I felt that I have more to say sometimes that does not fit in that blog like when I read a great book or I want to share about a product I tried that is either amazing or horrible. Sometimes I just want to share about current events going on and I feel this second blog will enable me to do that. I feel both blogs have their place and I wish I could combine the two into one but I don't believe it would work. Thanks for taking the time to view my blog!
